Welcome to DonTroc. By using our app, you agree to these terms of use. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the DonTroc app, you agree to be bound by these terms of use and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept these terms, please do not use the app.

2. Service Description

DonTroc is a free mobile platform allowing users to:

• Donate items they no longer need
• Swap items with other users
• Discover items available nearby through geolocation
• Communicate with other users via the built-in messenger
• Manage transactions (donation or swap proposals)
• Take part in a gamification system (points, levels, badges, challenges)
• Take part in quizzes about sustainability
• Manage favorite lists and configure listing alerts
• Refer other users and share listings

3. Registration and User Account

3.1 Account Creation

To use all DonTroc features, you must create an account. You can sign up using:

• An email address and a password
• Your Google account (Google Sign-In)

3.2 Account Responsibility

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Providing accurate and up-to-date information
• Reporting any unauthorized access to your account immediately

3.3 Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from the app settings. Deletion results in the removal of all your data (listings, messages, profile, favorites, gamification data) within 30 days.

4. Usage Rules

4.1 Acceptable Behavior

By using DonTroc, you agree to:

• Respect other users
• Post honest and accurate listings
• Not use the app for illegal purposes
• Not post offensive, discriminatory, or unlawful content
• Not manipulate the gamification system fraudulently
• Not create fake accounts or impersonate other users
• Not use automated systems (bots) to interact with the app

4.2 Prohibited Items

4.3 Reporting

DonTroc has a reporting system allowing users to report any inappropriate content or behavior. Reports are reviewed and appropriate measures are taken (warning, content removal, account suspension).

5. User Content

5.1 Ownership

You retain ownership of all content you post (photos, descriptions, messages). By posting content, you grant DonTroc a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote this content within the operation of the app.

5.2 Moderation

DonTroc reserves the right to remove any content that violates these terms of use, without notice. Content reported by users is reviewed by our moderators.

6. Transactions Between Users

We recommend that you:

• Inspect the condition of items before accepting them
• Conduct exchanges in safe public locations
• Use the rating system to score your experiences
• Report any suspicious behavior via the built-in reporting system

7. Gamification and Rewards

7.1 Points and Levels System

DonTroc includes a gamification system that rewards positive actions:

• Posting listings, successful swaps, sharing, referrals, quizzes, etc.
• Points (XP) allow you to level up and unlock badges
• Boosts let you temporarily highlight your listings

7.2 Nature of Rewards

7.3 Rewarded Videos

The app offers optional video ads (rewarded videos) that grant bonuses (extra points, listing boosts). Watching these videos is always voluntary and is never required to use the app.

8. Advertising

8.1 Presence of Ads

DonTroc is a free app funded by advertising. By using the app, you accept the presence of ads in the following formats:

• Banners displayed at the bottom of certain screens
• Interstitial ads (full-screen) shown during certain page transitions, with limited frequency
• Rewarded videos (optional) offered in exchange for in-app bonuses

8.2 Ad Networks and Mediation

Ads are served via the Google AdMob mediation platform (Google LLC), which allows several partner ad networks to bid in real time. Partner networks include:

• Meta Audience Network (Meta Platforms, Inc.) — Privacy Policy
• Unity Ads (Unity Technologies) — Privacy Policy
• Pangle (ByteDance Ltd.) — Privacy Policy
• Liftoff Monetize / Vungle (Liftoff Mobile, Inc.) — Privacy Policy
• IronSource / LevelPlay (Unity Technologies / ironSource Ltd.) — Privacy Policy

Each ad network may collect data via its SDK integrated in the app (advertising ID, device information, performance data). For more details, see our Privacy Policy.

8.2 bis GDPR Consent (EEA / UK / CH / BR users)

8.3 Fraudulent Use of Ads

It is prohibited to intentionally and repeatedly click on ads, use automated tools to interact with ads, or otherwise manipulate the ad system. Any ad fraud will result in immediate account suspension.

9. Referrals and Social Features

• The referral system allows you to earn points by inviting new users
• Referral codes are personal and must not be mass-published on third-party platforms
• DonTroc reserves the right to revoke points obtained from fraudulent referrals
• Sharing listings on social networks is subject to those platforms' terms of use

9 bis. Voluntary Donations (PayPal & Ko-fi — external payments)

DonTroc offers a voluntary donation feature to support the development and maintenance of the app. Payments are NOT processed in the app: you are redirected to an external third-party platform.

• Donations are 100% optional and provide no exclusive advantage in the app (in compliance with Google Play policies on digital goods)
• Two external options are offered:
  • PayPal via paypal.me/b1entertenment — subject to PayPal terms
  • Ko-fi via ko-fi.com/bachirdev — subject to Ko-fi terms
• DonTroc never has access to your banking information or your PayPal/Ko-fi credentials
• Any refund request, dispute, or litigation must be addressed directly to PayPal or Ko-fi, who are solely responsible for processing the payment
• DonTroc cannot be held liable for any malfunction, delay, or error on these third-party platforms
• Any fraud attempt (abusive chargeback, identity theft) may be reported to the relevant platforms

9 ter. Ratings and Reputation System

• After each successful transaction, you can rate your counterparty (1 to 5 stars + optional comment)
• Ratings are public and visible on the rated user's profile
• Ratings must be honest, factual, and courteous
• Defamatory, insulting, false, or transaction-unrelated ratings can be removed upon report
• You cannot rate a user without having performed a real transaction with them
• Users with a very low average rating may see their listings deprioritized in search results
• Trust badges (Verified, Top Contributor, etc.) are awarded automatically based on objective criteria

9 quater. Leaderboard and Public Visibility

• The global and weekly leaderboard displays the most active users (XP, swaps, referrals)
• Your username and score are publicly visible by default
• You can hide your profile from the leaderboard at any time from your profile
• Rankings are updated daily
• Any score manipulation (exploits, multiple accounts) will result in exclusion from the leaderboard and account suspension

9 quinquies. Push Notifications

DonTroc sends several categories of notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging:

• Transactional notifications (messages, barter proposals, ratings received)
• Proximity notifications (listings near you, configurable radius)
• Gamification notifications (badges, challenges, level-ups, leaderboard)
• Retention notifications (periodic reminders for inactive users)
• Smart notifications and personalized tips

You can disable each notification category from your profile or device settings. Disabling notifications does not affect app usage.

9 sexies. App Updates (Google Play In-App Update)

DonTroc uses the Google Play In-App Update API to offer new versions:

• Flexible updates can be downloaded in the background without interrupting your usage
• Critical updates (security fixes, legal compliance, anti-fraud) may be required before continuing to use the app
• If you refuse a critical update, certain features may be unavailable or access to the app may be blocked
• Very old versions (over 12 months) may stop being supported

10. Intellectual Property

The DonTroc app, its design, logo, source code, and features are protected by intellectual property law. Any unauthorized reproduction, modification, or distribution is prohibited.

11. Limitation of Liability

DonTroc is provided "as is". We do not guarantee:

• Continuous and uninterrupted availability of the service
• The accuracy of information posted by users
• The quality of items swapped or donated
• The proper functioning of third-party services (Firebase, Cloudinary, Google AdMob and its partner ad networks, Google Play Billing, Google Play In-App Update, Google Maps)
• The permanent availability of ads and associated rewards
• The absolute relevance of personalized algorithmic recommendations
• The safety of in-person meetings arranged via the platform (personal safety is your sole responsibility — favor public places)

To the extent permitted by law, DonTroc disclaims all liability for direct or indirect damages resulting from the use of the app.

12. Suspension and Termination

DonTroc reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account in case of violation of these terms, including:

• Posting prohibited content
• Abusive behavior toward other users
• Fraudulent use of the app or gamification system
• Manipulation of the advertising system
• Creation of multiple accounts to bypass limitations
• Multiple founded reports from other users

13. Changes to the Terms

We may modify these terms of use at any time. Changes take effect upon publication in the app. Your continued use of the app after modification constitutes acceptance of the new terms. Substantial changes will be notified in the app.

14. Governing Law

These terms of use are governed by Moroccan law. In case of dispute regarding the interpretation or execution of these terms, the parties shall endeavor to find an amicable solution. Failing an amicable agreement, the dispute shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of Moroccan courts.
